Professor Gu, graduated from Shanghai First Medical College in 1954, has been dedicated himself to the scientific research and teaching activities in the pathology, biochemistry and molecular biology of cancer. He is the Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University , the Emeritus President of Shanghai Cancer Institute, Renji Hospital, Jiao Tong University, School of Medicine. Professor Gu founded the “State Key Laboratory for Oncogenes and Related Genes” in 1985. He is one of the pioneers in the field of functional genomics of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the cancer gene therapy in China.
